  • Tucson '67 Produttori Horizontal Tasting

Double decanted in the AM and drunk over several hours and the following morning

A deeper and meatier/ savory profile than any of the other wines this evening. It has a sense of minerality, ferrous notes, meatiness, and more overt power than any of the other Produttori wines tonight. Still youthful (in context of age), and with rougher hewn edges than any of the other wines tonight. It has coarser tannins and more of a sense of a directness, and if I am to pick nits compared to the other ecru bottling, maybe lacking some nuance and subtlety. This has upfront power and a little brusqueness to it. A few ounces left overnight in an open glass grows meatier, with beef stock and ferrous notes, and darker fruits and balsamic notes more in a supportive role. Still with the same coarse tannins (in context of older Nebbiolo) of the preceding night. Pretty similar to my last bottle. Outstanding and still at peak. 93

  • Double decanted in the AM.

Mature, with savory notes, but still with roses, perfume, and deeper toned fruit still with a feeling of sweet (I'm sure that's the wrong term) BB fruit, but on the muscular side of Barbaresco. There is power still in a relatively forward way compared the the sneaky and deeper power of the Rabaja. A little coarseness tannin wise that I seem to get in Paje. A very well cared for bottle with a high fill and outstanding color, that was drinking at peak for my palate. I would be shocked if it improved, but I don't fear its death any time soon. 92
