13x Pinot Greatness: Tasted double blind. At first a bit muted but with time more and more open. This is a bit on the ripe side of things and misses a bit of that ethereal Pinot elegance. Time should help to bring this to the next level.
TN: On the nose rather muted. On the palate there is this intense sweetness, satin-like texture, dark fruit, minerality, herbs and soil. A tad simpler than some other wines tonight, but the structural frame and texture are very good, but it has not the airiness of the best Burgundies - but it’s a Corton after all. With time more and more pure strawberries come out. Gets better and better by the minute. Overall very solid.
Decanting: A solid 1-2 hours should help.

During a Pinot blind tasting dinner. Attractive nose with lots of Vosne spice, autumn leaves, cinnamon, red fruit. The palate was excellent as well, caressing tannins, very good acidity. Top drawer, my personal WOTN of the event. People who complain that Grand Cru red Burgundy is expensive, should buy this. 96+

Wow this is really good. First still youthfully slightly austere, but opening up really nicely with some air. Beautifully layered, deep and complex, with notes of dark and dark red berries, some violets, pepper, graphite, just a touch of sous-bois, menthol, also some flowery notes, also minerality. It‘s medium-full bodied, with excellent tension, it has medium tannin that is very fine grained and silky, there is also nice medium-high acidity adding great freshness. Long finish with beautiful complexity. A great Corton from this very good producer, probably one of the very best wines ever produced here.

Another excellent showing of this great wine. It held up really nicely in a line-up with Barolo and top-notch Californian Cab, which is not easy for a more finessed Burgundy. Medium slightly translucent ruby color. Complex notes of sweet red cherries, some strawberries, violets, dark minerality, pepper, raspberries and some smoke. It‘s medium-full bodied, with excellent mid-palate persistence, very good freshness and an overall weightless mouthfeel. It has medium-high acidity and medium+ tannin that is super silky. Great length. What a beautiful Corton.

Medium slightly translucent ruby color. Beautifully perfumed, with complex notes of sweet red cherries, strawberries, violets, dark mineral notes (graphite), pepper, some caramel, also some sappy raspberries and some smoke. It‘s medium-full bodied, has excellent mid-palate persistence, feels incredibly fresh and weightless at the same time, with medium-high acidity and medium+ tannin that is super silky and just excellent quality. Great length. A complex, fresh and incredibly seductive Corton from this excellent producer. They really hit it out of the park in 2010... This has still a few good years ahead but it‘s irresistible right now. Such a beauty!
