This is Sagrantino, so still plenty of tannin and food accompaniment is important, but squarely in its drinking window now. Mildly high toned and flavor profile is true to the variety also. Pretty good, even if no Paolo Bea. Drink or hold at least 5 years, but I suspect better on the early end for the fruit.

Dark purple fading to garnet Medium plus aromas of beautiful blue/ black fruit with dense smoke/ forest floor / dark florals secondary Medium plus body with palate of dark fruit/ florals and smoke with cooking spices/ vanillin High tannins remain but somehow quite well integrated - medium plus acidity and medium plus alcohol - Finish goes on forever led by the fruit and tannins This is drinking really well right now - prob no reason to age any longer This offering is one of my favorite Sangrantinos

Drinking nicely. Tannins are still in the room, and not quietly - but I solved that by popping this with a lamb/gorgonzola/caramelized onion burger - which seemed to bring everything together nicely. There's still some nice dusty fruit up front. Seems to be in a good window.
No notes taken. Intensely and beautifully perfumed - blue/ black fruit and exotic spices. Palate is picture perfect - tannins remain high but beautifully integrated. I don't see this improving and I think its in the center of its drinking window.

Dark fruit (black cherry, plum), spice, strong herbal , tannins. Slight tobacco. Slight leather. Good acidity. Strong tannins- possibly needs more time. Lingering finish.
