  Firm nose - quite restrained yet still typically Portuguese. Dark forest fruits and a hint of liquorice. Initially smooth on the palate, with a nice lick of tannin that rounds out nicely to a fairly good length finish. More dark fruits, blackberry, a little blueberry and prune, a touch heavy on the oak, and a bit more balancing acidity wouldn't go a miss. Overall, a pleasant wine with some interest, that's probably approaching it peak, drink within the next year or two. I just tend to enjoy a little more "wildness" in Portuguese wines.

  Nose has receded quite a bit - subtle floral notes now only; smooth, hardly any tannins though a bit simplistic and lacks depth.

  Deep purple colour; Lovely bramble and herbal inflected fruits on the nose; smooth, quite straightforward Touriga on the palate. Not the most complex. Pleasant and well-made if a little overbearing on the finish.
