  • Tasted at Rendezvous by Kerry Wines, Hong Kong. 197 wines. We managed to sip 32 in two hours. Hard work…but happy to roll up our sleeves, exercise our swirling wrists, put on our wine spectacles, clear our noses and cleanse our palates….we do what we can to make the world a better place!!!

Clear on the eye and, ready for this, on the nose. Yes, we almost did not know it was wine! Fresh and crisp on the palate with flavours of green melon. Everyone was saying a nice, easy going wine for young, inexperienced sipping Chinese gals to enjoy at cocktail parties...sadly or happily (you decide), that is not us. Et voila, we have moved into the world of cocktail party where, solely to be polite, we would hold a glass for the requisite 1+ hour before absconding to a venue with more suitable sipping. We might even sip the glass if we really were feeling polite. Just not our sort of wine...we comment later on this producers Pinot Noirs, which demonstrate what we thought: they know what they are doing!

  • Tart apple and lime zest on the nose and palate. Lively acidity, with a musk note that provides lift. Another solid Oregon Pinot Gris, and a great qpr at 16 bucks.

  • Opened and poured with a pale straw color. Nice and crisp, dry with notes of straw, lemon/lime and a hint of saltiness. Terrific for a warm night on the deck.

  • Green apple, nectarine, white peach, white tea and some minerals. Fresh, tangy and fun.
