The nose on this is heavy on SB-style gooseberry; it also shows a nice bit of pear and, unfortunately, an out-of-place sanguine note. It's not quite fully dry up front, but a fair bit of crisp acid on the mid-palate provides balance. There's also a pleasant touch of yeast in the middle and on the finish, which is long enough for a $15 wine. Overall, though, it's hard to differentiate this -- "Oregon Pinot Gris" or no -- from the watery oceans of pointedly inoffensive Pinot Grigios that are out there. (And I probably unconsciously docked this a point because its synthetic cork broke my ScrewPull!)
