Bottom 1/5th of cork crumbled when I opened but the rest of the cork was fine. Decanted and let breath for 2 hours and was still robust and flavorful. More so than I expected for a nearly 15 year old vintage.

Opaque purple color with dark reddish-brown edges. Nose of prunes (along with the color) seems to suggest ox, but there's also a pyrazine note and plums. On the palate, the fruit is still lively...no more hint of ox...plums, red fruit, five spice, black licorice. Tannins are velvety and plush. Medium-to-long finish of red fruit and spice.
UPDATE for day 2: wine is consistent with previous night after 24 hours of air. This wine has some life left in it! I don't think it will significantly improve, but there's no rush.

Very good. Decanted for 3 hours but could have done longer. Very dry wine more in the Bordeaux style than a California Cabernet. This wine is very big and could use more time in the cellar.

A private tasting (Robert Sinskey Vineyards, Napa, California, USA): This too is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, percentages kept secret. More finesse and depth than the POV 2010, quite earthy too, finely layered, good fruit, lovely subtlety and complexity, finely grained tannins. The closest thing to right-bank claret I have tasted in Napa Valley so far.
