  • Deep orangey-gold. Nose is lovely - slightly botrytised perhaps, honeyed apples and tropical fruit. Palate exceedingly sweet and somewhat syrupy in texture. Not quite enough acid with a degree of "burn" from the sugar on the palate. Delicious but much too cloying. This is young and the balance may pull around after time in bottle. At the moment hard to drink much of. 91-92 for now, but if the balance fixes itself could be a different story.

(A.J. Adam Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling BA) ($176.00) There were two BAs, of which this was the glossier and more focused; it’s massive and syrupy but there’s some wine in there somewhere, and a few decades should reveal the maps to it!
