Ruby coloured. Bright red fruits with some black fruits to round it out. There's some earthiness, but it's not funky like I've found the 2010 vintage or the 2011 Chiroubles. There's a nice acidic backbone and some tannins too. I think this might be better with a bit more bottle age, but it's drinking well now. What a great value wine. Honestly, this would compare well to some of the Cru wines from the big name beaujoulais producers. Just delicious juice. Drink up!

E&R's 3rd Annual Beaujolais Weekend; 11/17/2012-11/18/2012 (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): Green inflected fruit on the nose, which is tart and light. Lightly grippy palate, showing more green notes. Fairly light balance to this tart wine. Grippy and gritty finish. Very strong structure for the lightness, and strong structure in general for a Villages wine. It doesn't really have the fruit or other stuffing to hold up to that strong grittiness though.

No formal note - nice fresh berry mixture, white pepper notes, simple and unpretentious wine. Slightly preferred the '10

Bright, light, tart, acid-driven, lots of green and leafy, sometimes almost bitter, notes. I liked it, but I can't begin to guess how it will age.
