Clear, deep ruby. Clean medium (+) complex nose of blackberry, damson, stewed plum, apricot, licorice, black pepper, charred wood, and earth. Dry, high acid, medium (+) ripe chalky tannins, with high alcohol, full bodied, pronounced flavour intensity of blackberry, stewed plum, licorice and white pepper with a medium (+) finish.
Very Good. This is a powerful and complex wine, with enjoyable primary, secondary and tertiary notes. The high alcohol level holds this back from an outstanding rating.

Deep purple colour. Looks attractive. There's certainly a stonefruit lift from the viognier both on the nose and palate, but it's all in balance unlike many Barossan Shiraz containing a dash of the white grape. It's a medium to heavy bodied wines but maintains a liveliness and lightness in touch which keeps it approachable. It could certainly take some more age but it's great drinking now. Blackberry, blackcurrant, meats, pepper, spice and that hint of apricot. Really good.
