The appearance of this wine is surprisingly purplish despite its age. The nose is quite restrained but fruity with berry overtones and a very mild oak present. The palate was likewise restrained on the first day but more yielding on the next with rich fruit though not over-the-top as anticipated and a hint of inky mineral towards the finish. The wine is medium-bodied in structure and tastes remarkably fresh and smooth perhaps due to the dollop of viognier that was added to the blend. Overall, an interesting wine with years ahead of it as evident by the tannins in it.

Typical of Barossa shiraz at its best. Beautiful full-bodied style shiraz with a lingering palate and intense fruit.

Expressive nose of black raspberry, coffee and violets. Medium plus body of blackberry, mocha and spice. Medium plus smooth finish.
