Better second night. Dry-woodsy nose with some flowers and menthol (maybe a bit of heat?). Taste includes wood spice and dried fruits. Finish is medium long with some grippy tannins. There is a slight candy aspect on the nose, taste and finish that if develops further would make the wine very interesting. I think the wine has enough structure to age well. Not a big fan now though.

Consistent with most notes here. A little bit of barnyard/corkiness blew off in a couple minutes. Was pretty closed down, needed at least 20m to start opening up.
Nose has wood spice, floral (like violet), and dried fruit notes. On the palate there's a bit of anise and black pepper, with primary fruit being dried cherries. Definitely has some tannins/grip. Has a nice balance with acid and fruit, and should go longer than 2016.
Medium-long finish, fairly well balanced but should become more integrated in a couple years.
This wine would probably show much better with a hearty meal, it can definitely stand up to it.

Decanted and this evolved considerably over the course of the night. Tight at first but with time this showed extracted flavors of dark and dry cherry, wood, and spice. Earthy and interesting. Longer life than the tasting window specifies.

Ruby red.
Barnyard, floral (violet).
Great acidity, big tannins, concentrated fruit flavour, well-balanced but takes time to open up.
