A little darker fruit profile than the last bottle, and I might have been a little generous w/ my 89 score, based on my impression this go round. Fairly deep purplish ruby in color. Aromas of darker fruits and smoke, with some herbs sitting underneath. Medium body and acid, medium(-) finish, and flavors of blue, black, and dark red fruits, with orange and tangerine on the back end. More modern in style, but still somewhat soft in nature. I find it neither compelling nor offensive, but it's an enjoyable enough quaff and it worked just fine w/ burritos earlier for lunch. For ~$10, this is a fine crowd-pleasing party option, and most will describe it as "smooth."

Bramble and some black/blue fruit on the nose with some oak hints. Dark fruit and soft tannins. Finish is surprisingly long but with no defined flavors. No real depth to this wine at all but an enjoyable bottle for what it is.

Popped and poured with penne with marinara and meatballs. Aroma has oak and some dark fruits - tough to place exactly what it is, but seems like some blackberry. The taste is enjoyable and easy going, but not too complex. Similar taste profile as on the nose, but the oak is less prominent on the palate. I'd say this could be a crowd pleaser with a large group.

Smooth, fairly uncomplicated Rioja with cherry, black cherry, smoke, and light herbs on the nose and palate. Smooth tannins and just an easy mid-week option. Great QPR.
