Deep, dark reddish-purple in color; bordering on opaque. Full, forward & fragrant primary nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with secondary overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, dark cocoa/coffee, spices, herbs, minerals, smoky & a touch of vanilla. Medium-deep bodied with a very good concentration of balanced & silky smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with dark cocoa/coffee, spices, herbs, minerals, earthy & vanilla/oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing & although it should develop further with several more years of additional aging, it appears to be meant for earlier consumption. A blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc & 10% Petite Verdot.

I would never had guessed this as Italian in a blind tasting. Dark chocolate, cassis, dark, dark fruits, low acidity. This was much more new world to me than I expected, but tasty nonetheless - very similar to some of the wines I tasted in my recent Napa trip. I wish it had more Italian terroir showing.

At a good spot now. At its 10 year anniversary, still looks quite young in opaque. Overall, quite balanced. Better consumed with hearty fares.

Ripe raspberries, strawberries, red plums. Eucalyptus and some oak influence. Full bodied. Pair with red meat.
