Upgrade time. Open five days and the palate/finish persistence just grows. True, the nose is now dominated by spicy pie crust in place of spiced fruit. But I'm thinking the last bottle, if drunk in 6-12 months and well-decanted, will put it all together. Old vines. Wow, it's got that special quality that only old vines can express. These vines are 130 years old -- older than the grandparents of anybody now over 60.

Penultimate bottle from a case: a ruffian aspiring to gentility. Surely irresistible to Zin lovers, and accessible to nearly any red wine drinker. Not great, just flawless.

So having wrote that note, I find that bottle to have been the last, which means one was consumed without record being entered. It happens, even to the best of us.

Had occasion to open one of these and compare with a Kline zinfandel, which is a reasonably priced and large production wine. Got to say the Three Wine compares very favorably, although Dulcie preferred the Kline (there is no accounting for tastes). This is way meatier, bigger, denser. I would certainly pay the difference to get the extra.
