Lovely dark color. Upon opening this wine had strong tannins and rich jammy fruit. Both of these faded into a nice balance over the coarse of an hour sipping.
While drinkable now, I think this wine will improve with a few more years.

January in Walla Walla; 1/25/2013-1/27/2013 (Walla Walla, WA): Nose is primarily spicy and peppery. Flavors are a balance of spiciness and jaminess, two things this varietal is known for. Higher alcohol lends a warming finish.
