Cork wet to top, but easily extracted with Durand. Plenty of fine dark sediment. Decanted half an hour before drinking and kept the lid on (needlessly as the aroma was persistent). Wine was pale garnet with some green and bricking at the rim. The nose was limited but pretty, some mulberry, some cedar. The palate was thin but pleasant and well balanced. Some green wood. Acid was med+. A decent example of a mature and pretty claret which is still very drinkable, although well past its peak.

Winefield's pre-sale tasting: Starting with a lovely ripe bouquet, perhaps in the midtaste a tad too ripe, stiil very enjoyable; in the finsh the wine shows more age.

At home with K at dinner. Over the hill. Unimpressive.
