1 glass poured off and I tasted this on day 2. Red fruited with a little light oak influence mixed in. "crunchy" acidity, medium weight. Nice red fruited and elegant Margaux profile. Not as heavy as the '15 (only other vintage I've had)

On first opening the wine is a bit closed off, but you can already smell promise. Lots of minerals, leather, smokiness, and some fruit. After decanting for about an hour and a half the wine revealed enticing aromas.
Deep ruby color with a slight purple tint in the body. On the nose, the wine is fruity with blackberries, blueberries, smoky tobacco, some pepper, some pencil lead, a slight hint of licorice and other spices, and some wet earth.
On the palate, you can already taste how fleshy and pure this wine is. Mineral driven attack with notes of cassis and cherries. Espresso and baking spices follow up on the midpalate, and finishes with a pleasant fruity and floral iris note. Ample acidity that drives the wine, and round, succulent tannins.
Incredible concentration and balance for 30 dollars. I am so impressed with how pure and elegant this wine is at this price point.

A decent to above average Bordeaux. Nice dark fruit, leather, earthiness, mild tannin. Great QPR.

First bottle was a little lite. Hoping it gets bigger with time.
