  • Maturing dark red color. Port like aromas on the nose with sweet cherries, blackberries and strawberry jam. Nice balance in the mouth. Mature and drinking well now. Not much structure left. Some dryness in the finish.

  • This producer takes an old style approach when producing his Amarone's. Its a blend of 80% Corvina, 10% Corvinone and 10% Rondinella. The grapes are dried from harvest until the end of Jan early Feb. This wine is fermented in steel then aged for 36 months in 3000 LTR oak barrels, then 8 months in the bottles. This wine has a deep ruby color. On the nose there are dark berries, some dried fruit hints and dark cherries. On the palate there are hints of dried fruit (cherries and cranberries), but more elegant than the "average" amarone. There are hints of sour fruit. This wine is 15% alcohol and is superbly balanced. Great acidity with a finish that persists for at least 30 seconds. Some very soft, but well-integrated, tannins are present as well. Very drinkable now, but in my opinion can age for 5-10 more years. This is in my opinion an excellent Amarone. (0 views)
