  • This is coming on well. Mostly red fruits, ripe but not overripe, with bright red cherry on the nose and palate, then redcurrant and wild strawberry. Medium bodied, with good persistence and a decent finish, it's still quite fresh and young, probably needing another two or three years to reach full maturity, but already delicious and I'm not sure it will actually improve. At 18 euros very good value and definitely recommended.

  • Fresh and resolved, still m+ acid, and med body. tannins fully resolved. this didnt hit the heights of compexity but was perfect for bistro fare, with the balance of hitting peak but lacking the complexity of maturity,

  • Not the most complex of wines, but very tasty. Blackberry and redcurrant on the nose, along with some winsome red cherry, before a moderately rich mouthful of the same, cooled down by a much crisper, fresher wave of blackcurrant midpalate. Many years ahead still.

  • Sadly my last bottle. Classic Bourgueil from a ripe year, with abundant red fruit (cherry / raspberry / pluot) wrapped around a core of dense minerals, plenty of sweet bell pepper, and some more evolved cigar box / sandalwood, sassafras / 5-spice, and leaf matter notes. Drinks very cleanly / no hint of brett. Mostly resolved tannins. Compelling finish. Probably just entering peak and will drink well for several more years.
