I wish I had another few bottles of this; this was really good and still quite primary; marion berries, ripe cherries, Eola spice, and a bit of floral notes; ripe with plenty of power and depth, but also still plenty of energy; a bigger wine, but still in balance; long and finishes with spiced berry fruits; I really liked it and would buy it again in a heartbeat for the price I paid.

I really liked this. It's old school type of WV pinot. In fact, blind I suspect I would have called it Burgundy. The nose has bright red berry fruit and a bit of spice, but also some savory earth and mineral notes. The palate is juicy and fresh, with bing cherry and cranberry, a hint of purple flowers, the vibrant acidity driving it across your tongue. There is some underlying structure on the finish. This is not at its peak and should age easily for another 8-10 years based on this tasting. I bought this at the winery before it changed hands. Haven't tried any of the newer wines, but I hope they haven't changed them too much as this is really good.

Tired, faded, nothing special with bitter notes cutting through the fruit. Nose was almost non-existent.
Proclaimed proudly as the best of the entire vintage according to the back label, this wine was supposedly ready to drink upon release but could also be held for 10-15 years. Hmmm I have heard that marketing line somewhere else I think...
In any event perhaps a bad bottle then? Unfortunately I don't have another with which to find out on so my score will have to stand.

Had at an Oregon wine tasting. Un oaked with some age. Drinks well, but I liked the added complexity seen in the other options.
