Drank at least 2 months ago. Limited note here, but very nice and classy Austrian. Drink any time over next 10-15 years, depending on how you like 'em.

Second bottle, color and palate was completely different than the first, stored in exactly the same circumstances. First was much darker. Could this be variation due to screw top? Pretty surprising how different it is. Second bottle was lighter on it's feet, lighter color, still had some freshness, good acidity and citrus fruit, but definitely on the decline. I would drink up and hope for the best.

restaurant purchase. UNP. color was a little darker than i expected and there was a reductive note that blew off with decanting. on the palate this was surprisingly light on its feet. rich and dense on the palate. nice finish. thinking drink soon for this

Yowza, this is on another level, incredibly fine, incredibly salty, packing incredible power of spicy flavor and salty crushed-rock-ness and yet somehow also airy and ethereal.

(Weingut Hirsch Riesling Zöbinger Heiligenstein) Light yellow color; celery, tart citrus nose; celery, tart citrus, mineral palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish
(Hirsch Riesling Heiligenstein) ($57.00) Mineral! A true Grand Cru in all its swollen gorgeous entirety; the exotics come on with air, and then really yowl at you; mind-expandingly expressive. There is no wine on earth that combines steel and rock and smoke and fruit and spice as these wines do. None — not one.

I like the Gaisberg better in this vintage.
