PnP. Color is garnet or purple-red fading to ruby red with a strip of orange at the edge. Faint aroma of ripe cherry and dust. With swirling the aromas become stronger and additional aromas of iron, wet earth, some gentle floral aromas. First taste about 5-10 minutes after opening with dinner of grilled chicken, garlic green beans, steamed kale, sautéed mushrooms and brown rice. On the palate this has nicely balanced cherry, dirt, well-integrated tannin and nicely balanced acidity. Medium tannin. Medium acid. Finish is balanced: neither mouth-watering nor mouth-drying. The wine is softly elegant at this time. There may be a pepper note in the wine that flares with the grilled chicken, which probably has black pepper. After about 20 minutes a pipe tobacco aroma is appearing. Delicious.

Having with Sunday Gravy big dinner. Was a bit light but and tannic at first. Much better after an hour. Typical italian nose, flavors of cherry and little blackberry, leather, balanced acidity, slight dusty tannin and broad mouthfeel. Decent finish. Good with food or standalone. 91

Not as good as it once was...
Different as I haven't had a nobile for a while.
This one has pucker and tang. But it is growing on me. I really need to decant the next bottle of whatever it is...

This was better a few years ago. While it was young and rustic before, it has started to fall out of balance.
