Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Light gold color. Started disjointed but only needed about an hour of air to come together. Fabulous nose, rich, layered with some apricot botrytis and spiced Asian pear. Lots of washed rock minerals. Full bodied, with some residual sugar which surprised me when I saw the 14.5% alcohol on the label. Its impeccably balanced, though, and I didn't notice the alcohol flavor, but did feel it after the second glass. Long tapered finish, great wine that exceeded my expectations.

  • This note is comprimised even more than normal as I am in recovery from the flu, so nothing to report on the nose. However, it clearly has class and is refreshingly delicious in my current state. It is full and open, with fine acidity to balance the sweetness. The 14.5% alcohol level can be discerned only on the label. The finish is long and satisfying. There is a steely minerality to it with a hint of spice; I don't know if it sees any oak, but if so it's restrained. I could drink this all night. vg
