Pretty straight forward and easy going. The mandarin orange, raspberry, and ruby red aromas show a hint of salinity but lack that yeasty, brioche complexity I like in good champagne. Dry, a touch ferrous, and a hint of lime drive the fine-beaded palate.

Mid salmon colour. Mostly mute nose but a touch of iron and smoke. Soft, round flavour of peach and orange. Fairly sweet but balanced. Quite lovely. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Oddbins, on offer at £25, usually £30].

Practice Tasting for WSET Diploma Unit 5 exam (Clerkenwell): Appearance: The wine is Clear with a Pale onion skin colour. Nose: The nose is Clean and Developing, showing Medium intensity primary aromas of redcurrant, strawberry and secondary aromas of bread, brioche. Palate: The wine is Dry in the mouth with a High level of acidity. It has a Medium Level of alcohol (12.00%). It has Medium body and Medium(+) intensity primary flavours of redcurrant, strawberry, watermelon and secondary flavours of bread, brioche. The finish is Medium. It has a creamy mousse. Autolytic character. Overall: Reasonable complexity and intensity but a bit short on finish. Conclusion: It is a Very Good quality wine. Nice Pinot fruit, soft strawberry-cherry, with decent minerality. A bit too sweet and lacking in cut for my taste, but not bad.
