This wine delivered on all fronts because we've really tired of the cherry cough syrup fruit bomb zins that we've tasted recently. Instead, the Alta Zin is well-balanced with a touch of oak, cherry, tobacco, pepper and harmonious tannins and is drinking really well right now. It really opened up to reveal its subtly delicious nuances about an hour after being corked. Best served with grilled portobello mushrooms, fresh rosemary, gorgonzola and sun-dried tomatoes while listening to Sun Kil Moon's new album, "Benji." Happy Valentine's Day, winos!

A bit hot at first opening with lots of big red cherry and dark berries. Not too jammy but definitely fruit forward. Balance is a bit off but very good with food and let the red cherry shine through

This wine is delicious. It's a nice fruity zin, as you'd expect. Has high alcohol numbers, but any alcohol taste burnt off quickly after opening.
The nose is full of fruit, but the palate has cherries, black pepper, and some other spice that I couldn't quite put my finger on. The finish was a long, satisfying pepper-y taste.
