Opened one hour prior to pairing with hamburgers and fries. A medium+ ruby in the glass extending out to a thinning meniscus. A reticent nose, featuring cherry, red alpine currant, white pepper and a touch of forest floor. Very good+ intensity and concentration, with excellent mid-palate push, and a 20+ second finish. Initial drying tannins cleared quickly. This is better than our first bottle several years ago, and probably at peak right now. No hurry.

Still very much alive. Earthy with rich dark fruit still.

Great value GSM, always enjoy it. 9 years was a stretch for this one, time to drink.

Nothing fantastic but quite solid Cote du Rhone for a weeknight. Still had good color and decent fruit. Last bottle in cellar, probably just in time.
