Opened an hour prior. Clearing tawny rim. Crushed raspberry bouquet. Palate is not my style - seems thin and alcoholic even if label states 13%. Tannins still present and a bit chewy. Medium final.

Pale rim, clear garnet. Bright red fruit and spice notes on nose. Palate is similar, with a strong sour cherry profile. Some cinnamon notes add complexity. Medium bodied. Tannins integrated. Medium final.
Overall nothing too offensive or exciting. Reasonable enough mid-week red.

Bottle off the wine list over lunch at Buona Terra. Drank from Scott Zweisel Pinot Noir glass over 1+ hour. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of tarry earth, wet undergrowth, floral violets, stony minerality, ripe red cherries, dark red plums. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), integrated though still chewy high tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet red cherries, dark red plums, earth, undergrowth, rocky stony minerality. Aged animal leather and sour cherries with more air. Chewy medium+ finish Very good quality. Probably drinking at peak now. Though not as complex layered as some Barolos, this has nice nebbiolo notes married to high acidity and minerality. Great with food.

Late Night Drinks at Kelvin's (Kelvin and Joyce's Place, Bishan): Another very interesting wine. I really could not place the nose at first, but it became more and more clearly Piedmontese at the end - roses, earth, sweet, almost candied red fruit, a touch of dried mango almost, and then a burst of peppery nuances - unusual. The palate was very full-on, with deep, ripe flavours of black cherries, cracked pepper and a little touch of earthiness, all coated with firm, powdery tannins and a juicy acidity, with just a touch of cola and the menthol on the finish. A wine of real structure and grip - needs a decade or more easily.
