Very dark fruited still but very compellling! Licorice, umami-beef stock impressions, complex minerals, a bit of antique furniture and a whiff of dill on the nose that develops into more spice layering with air time. Lush, powerful but extremely graceful. Could have been a Grand Cru; perfect balance of power and balance even today. 93+

Tasted blind: Garnet with clear rim; initially a soupy but serious nose of dark cherry, pomegranate, then strawberry rhubarb; very soil-inflected and having a menthol edge; a big wine for sure, I guessed it to be a Bonnes Mares. GC qualities. 92+

From a magnum. Slow ox for 6 hours. Still super tight. Decanted for 2 hours afterwards. The chambolle purple fruit and spice began to emerge. The oak is a bit prominent at this stage. Its quite balanced. Needs long term aging. The weight and depth are better than most of the 11 I tried. 91-92 potential.
