This bottle was superior to the 12-4-2013. My prediction that age would improve this wine, was,in fact, the case. Good white wines benefit from laying down in the right conditions for a few months and often peak either side of 3 years from vinification (September/early Oct in Cali). This is our "go to" Gewurz and has been for decades. Quite dry, as the vintner goes to great pains to point out, yet with the spicy and floral nature, it all works out exceptionally well. Pairs quite well with Asian fare, holiday turkey and ham, as well as appetizers. Well worth the $20-ish price.

Our favorite Gewurz and it is indeed dry. 2011 not as good as some years, but it still always delivers the dry, leeche--nut and spicy notes that make it so food friendly, or just a great quaffer. Might be better with another 6-12 months aging on it.

PnP w/10 min glass time, chilled. Clear, light straw color. Med nose of proper fruit. Somewhat flat w/little fruit, proper varietal taste, seemed over the hill with little spark. Still good acid but kind of bland overall. If you've got them, drink um. Unimpressed, did get a bit better with more air time. Slight cork. $17.

Rather diluted. The poor quality of the vintage is very evident here... 14.2% ABV.
