Labeled "Vieilles Vignes," and indeed only old vines on steep slopes can give wines such as this. Really textbook Sancerre, just now opening for business and sure to hold for quite some time. In certain vintages, possibly including 2011, Cotat and Vatan can take things to another level, but if allowed only one Sancerre to drink from every vintage forever, I'd pick this one.

A delicious and robust Sancerre from 70-year-old vines. Grapefruit and new-mown grass notes--perhaps some lemongrass or finely chopped herbs also. Nicely acidic and shows more body than some Sauvignon Blanc. Paired nicely with baked chicken tenders with asparagus
