  This is very dark in the glass, with significant purpling and a very, very slight translucence. The nose is reluctant and subdued. What there is suggests cherry candy or one of those purple candy sticks you give to your kids. That palate, on the other hand, is anything but subdued. This wine is very, very big and almost overwhelmingly young. It is parching and almost overbearing on the palate, but with a finish that is not particularly long. I give this a 90 now, but with some potential for improvement because of the obvious youth. The $30-ish reported price point is fair.
