Quick aeration and decant. I was pleasantly surprised. Not usually wowed by Merlot but this bottle showed a lot of ripe red fruit flavor with low minerality. Drinking very nice right now.

Pretty austere, as many P-B wines are. Restrained fruit, dominating wood and dusty tannins are not the best balance. It'll continue to evolve, but I don't think there's enough fruit to compete with the wood.

Walla Walla Syrah Festival "Vintage Pour" (Cavu Cellars, Walla Walla): Cherry, floral, spice, plum and mild peppery finish. Good length and balanced wine.
