Very herbal, wth marjoram, basil, and lavender (I actually pulled some bottles from the spice rack to look for similarities) surrounding a sweet core of dark cherry and umami, with surprising persistence. Strangely compelling, it is hard to stop drinking and a pleasant surprise.

This wine was thin, devoid of fruit and reeked of brett (which I can certainly appreciate in small flourishes from some producers). Very rustic tannins. Some mourvedre was detected, but can't say how much. As for the garrigue itself, no sign of it...
I didn't get the impression the wine was past its peak as much as it never got past mediocre in its lifetime.
Avoid. 14% abv

Dark garnett color, nose of barnyard, manure, pepper, tar, petrol, raison, dark fruit, tastes dry with, pepper, tar, burnt rubber, finishes short with sharp & rustic tannins
