This has a flat out gorgeous nose! It has highly perfumed aromas of crushed cherries, bubble gum, cotton candy, and strawberry slushy! This tasted great as well, with bright red fruit perceptions, brisk acidity, and a pretty floral perception.

Alluringly perfumed, quite Leroy in style, with pretty red & black berry, dried rose, and sous bois, all lifted by the faintest presence of VA that is additive to the experience. Medium light body, slight austerity in the style of the year, with moderate concentration to the dark fruit and earth flavors. Leroy's 1996 Mazis is ready to drink.

Decanted and drank over 4 hours. Nose of rust, red fruit, spice and sawdust. Palate was very structured with red and black fruit, lots of spice, iodine and minerals. Lots of tannin that grew more harsh with time in the glass. Shorter, angular finish.

Friday after Thanksgiving (FAT) (Palm Beach Gardens FL): Tasting, brief note. Perfumed start, very alluring, classically Leroy. An overall exciting 1996, this has great middle weight fruit with structure that's perfectly integrated - silky tannins and lifting acidity. Great meaty spice throughout.
