Practice your White Wine Blind Tasting, with Anne McHale MW (Berry Bros & Rudd, London): Tasted blind. Easy to spot as Riesling. (Andreas: Austria by virtue of not liking the style / Nicol: German Dry) Very Petrolly, light caramel note, very much a textbook Riesling nose, flinty, stony wine. green fruit, citrus. light spritzy too on palate. A touch difficult on the palate, sharp, bitter edges high acidity. Pretty decent length. Maybe its because we don't like the style but at best an 84 for us.

July 4th Wines (My Place): Really nice aromas of tropical fruits, chalk, crushed stones, and petrichor. The body of the wine is cutting, and energetic but still has massive fruits. Great lychee flavors, with cool peaches and pears. Lovely stuff.

Smoky, hint of petrol. Lots of energy and tension. Good acidity. Lemons and stones. Long. I want more!

This is good stuff. Grapefruit, peach and chalk come through, and everything is nicely integrated. It will be interesting to see how this develops
