An extraordinarily rich and racy Riesling - much bigger than I expected from a Federspiel - with a huge aromatic nose, roasted lime and tropical fruit palate, and acidity and alcohol that is almost burning. We liked this a lot. Mellowed, but was not overpowered, during a meal of gouda and comte cheese, followed by scallops seared with truffle butter, and wilted greens with pancetta.

on day 1, seems like a summer riesling: light color and body, stones and minerals predominate over white peaches and flowers, zingy acidity; by day 2, the wine had put on weight and become more well-rounded

Riesling Down Under - Cellarhand Tasting @ PWS: Smoke and floral soap with some ginger and a mineral element. Lighter bodied than the 2013, there is a little less ripeness and I think it is better balanced for it. A nice little line of minerality stretches along the palate. Very good.

Gimme one good riesling extravaganza (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Pear and peach, slight wet stone…smells 'broad' if you can believe it. In the mouth there is more peach and pear, the wine is rich and dense with slight sulphur. It's tangy and long with slight non-intrusive alcohol. Pleasant

Refreshing and zippy with slight spritz and sherbet mouthfeel, gentle sweetness finishing dry. Lovely easy drinking white wine
