Tuesday Night Double Blind <$40 (Bin 75): Bright dark crimson, clarity; strong mineral, juicy, young fruit, seemingly a bit hot, currant, some reductive notes; nice texture on entry, spicy red fruit, a touch of green, tobacco, ashy, currant, higher acid, very firm and grippy finish; never softened with air so I'd suggest cellaring longer if you can wait.

50% Cabernet, 50% Merlot. Big and gutsy with lots of power behind it. Tastes of the cab tannins and maybe some new oak? Just opened, a bit like a Napa cabernet transplanted to Tuscany. Which I suppose is the point.

Reasonably good. Nice attack, pleasant chalky fruits up front, definitely persistent tannins on the back end. Between last nights cheese pizza and tonight's pumpkin sauce pasta - I should have probably pulled a different bottle, because those foods really weren't helping this bottle. Sipping after dinner, it came alive, showed better. Will try to remember to pair it with something more suited to the tannins next time ...

Initial blast of sweet fruit, more medium bodied, currant, tobacco, raspberry and cherry, slightly medicinal finish; very drinkable and tasty.
