Good first impression but by the time of the second glass I the level of pleasure dropped significantly. Just too much extraction, too heavy and far too much oak. Underlying aromatics, however, were quite good.
TN: Clean, highly intense leather, cigar wrap, cedar and dark (red) fruit dominated nose. Some brett too. This wine is all about power with acidity, alcohol, tannins and flavor intensity on max level. Full-bodied, borderline heavy palate with precise darker red fruit, chocolate, tobacco and with time the cedar and oak aromas got more dominant and the initially good balance got worse. Good chocolate driven medium+ long finish. Overall too much extraction.
Decanting: No decant needed.

A big, bold, flavorful Tempranillo, lots of oak and overripe dark fruit, sweet, good tannic structure, low to medium acidity which has a hard time to keep it balanced. One or two glasses are very enjoyable but more is difficult - just a bit too much of everything and too overripe. No decant needed.

One of the better Spanish wines. Starts to be a pleasure but no hurry to drink
