Floral aromas exploded from the bottle when the cork was pulled, in perfect condition. Smooth, integrated, balanced, and a terrific reminder of how beautifully complex California cabs used to be before Laube ruined everything.

This bottle exceeded my expectations. Thinking the '97 California cabs are way past their prime and somewhat overrated to begin with, I found this in my cellar and figured it would be toast. What a surprise. Given the reviews of 2006 and before, it renews my sense of flavor cycling in wine. Smooth, balanced, black fruit, soft tannin, excellent flavor. I am sorry for those who drank this before now. Paired with braised beef and roasted vegetables this was an amazing Monday evening experience. Outstanding

Wow this wine blew a lot of enophiles away last night. Topping some high end napa cabs and lots of other top tier wines. Great color. Super exotic nose. Flavors just danced in the palette. Smooth and long and flavorful finish. Super uummy

Pleasant pop pulling the cork. I was a bit concerned as I had forgetton this wine Before catalog my wines on cellar tracker. I was more concerned after reading the other reviews. After two hours of decanting, however, this gem revealed a dark purple, moderate complex wine, with a musty light oak nose. The front palate was pleased with dark fruit and surprisingly black pepper. The finish had velvety tannins

Russk. I bought from Benchmark. One of the better older GPs. Savory cedar.
