Deep Garnet/Purple, medium/long legs, aromas mild aromas of bramble, earth, cassis, mild dark fruit flavors, chewable tannins, dry medium length finish

This was really quite excellent. Full-bodied, concentrated and expansive on the palate, rich and decadent. From the winery. One of the best cab blends I've had from Sonoma; more than I've come to expect from Alexander Valley. 93+pts.

I agree with the score from one wine magazine. Dark purple color--likely due to the petit verdot--turning deep red at the rim. On the nose, definite floral notes. More red fruit (black cherry and raspberry) than blue upon tasting. Cedar and menthol frame the long finish--wine clearly was aged in serious oak and benefits from the PV tannins. Almost better on Day 2, suggesting it has at least a few years before hitting its peak. Not sad I bought it.
