Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. this wine is crazy good after all these years. 100% Gaglioppo. Clear, bright amber, medium (+) in intensity. The nose is clean, with aromas of red fruit (cherries), caramel, and botanical herbs. The nose is medium in intensity and developed. The palate is dry, but with a hint of residual sugar. The palate is quite complex and still fresh, with flavors of "fruit salad cup" including strawberries, black cherries, cranberries and grapefruit. The finish or red liquorice is slightly bitter and palate-cleansing. The alcohol is medium at 13%. The acidity is medium. There is a hint of tannins. The minerality is medium (+) and helps provide some structure. Balanced and harmonious, medium bodied, with a moderately rich mouthfeel, medium (+) flavor intensity and medium finish. This is a relly pleasant rose'; a lot of bang for the buck. Drink now, not intended for further aging.

Clear, vibrant pink, medium (+) in intensity. The nose is clean, with aromas of red fruit (cherries) and tropical fruit (banana). The nose is medium in intensity and youthful. The palate is dry, but with a hint of residual sugar. There's a little fizz on the fore-palate which might be a little secondary fermentation. The palate is quite complex, with flavors of "fruit salad cup" including strawberries, black cherries, cranberries and grapefruit. The finish or red liquorice is slightly bitter and palate-cleansing. Balanced and harmonious, medium bodied, with a moderately rich mouthfeel, medium (+) flavor intensity and medium finish. This is a relly pleasant rose' which paired really well with braised chicken with garlic and onions. A lot of bang for the buck.

13% abv. The color was attractive and fell between coral and red on the spectrum. The wine had a frizzante sensation in the mouth when first opened and poured. I found red berries in the fragrance and red berries and citrus on the palate (maybe some pomegranate as well as raspberry and strawberry.) There was an initial tart suggestion of sour hard candies, also a bit of texture on the tongue from fuzzy tannins. An intriguing wine. It improved the second evening with aeration and loss of the frizzante sensation. I like this better at room temperature than chilled. I would buy this again if available under $15.

Clear, bright pink, of medium (+) intensity. Very pretty in the glass. The nose is clean, with aromas of red cherries and roses. The nose is medium in intensity and youthful. The palate is dry, but with a hint of residual sugar. The alcohol is medium at 13%. The acidity is medium. There is a hint of tannins and the medium (+) minerality gives it a little more structure. Balanced and harmonious, medium bodied, with a moderately rich mouthfeel, medium (+) flavor intensity and medium finish. This is a relly pleasant rose' which drinks more like a light red than a white. This would pair well with a meatier fish like a grilled salmon or grilled mahi mahi. A very good value.
