Big beefy, chewy RRV Petite Sirah. Loads of dark ripe blackberries, plums, dried fig, a touch of anise and black pepper. Dark and inky in the glass, the tannins are a bit grainy but not overly so. Light to medium acidity and a medium length finish.

I am rating the 2010 Foppiano Petite Sirah several months after having consumed the wine. I recall my overall impression was positive, but not particularly a standout experience. Strong tannins seem to resonate in my memory and I know I finished the bottle wanting to experience more petite sirahs in the future. The CellarTracker community currently rates this wine at 88 points. I align closely to that rating and give the 2010 Foppiano Petite Sirah 87 points. I would be willing to try this specific producer again in the future.
Producer's Notes: This inky, dark wine boasts classic petite sirah aromas of blueberry and dark chocolate with hints of blackberry and vanilla. On the palate, flavors of black cherry and blueberry are complimented by a touch of caramel. Refined, silky tannins linger on the finish. This rich wine pairs well with braised meats, grilled lamb chops, and hearty aged cheeses. ----------------------
Rating Scale: Extraordinary (95-100 points); Outstanding (90-94); Very Good to Excellent (85-89); Good (80-84); Average (75-79); Below average (70-74); Avoid (50-69)

Deep red purple color, good legs on the swirl, limited nose, taste of black fruit / blackberries, with earthy / chalky background. Very good value for the price, but not quite a 90pt wine.

Surprisingly still good even if way over aged. Fun and juicy drink.

Aged well. Smooth and full bodied. Didn’t like it as much when I first tried it.
