Medium red and pink at the edge. Nose: Raspberry perfume, sous bois, a little smoke. Palate: Nimble, good concentration of berry fruit, bright but certainly not sharp, this has sufficient concentration and a sweetness to the fruit and a slight grip on the finish. This is elegant and in its drinking zone.

Burgundy vs Barolo: I didn't get a green note that some pointed out, so I guessed 2013 Burgundy based on the high acidity. Prominent vanilla note on the nose. Vibrant cherry fruit but had distracting powdery tannins. A more structured Chambolle.

Brought this to a wine dinner last night at Imperial Treasure Cantonese Cuisine @ Great World City. Theme of the Evening: Burgundy vs Barolo, 7 years of older.
Purplish-red in colour. Mesmerizing deep and delicated bouquet on the nose followed by a symphony of red fruit aromas, dominated by ripe cherry, raspberry, young strawberries and cranberry notes. These notes are supported by subtle floral undertones, including violets and rose petals, sweet spices and mocha, adding an extra layer of complexity to the aromatic profile.
On the palate, the wine is refined, racy, silky and smooth, with the tannins well-integrated, providing structure without overwhelming the delicate fruit flavors. Flavors of red berries continue to shine, and there's a delightful touch of red currants that adds tanginess and depth. Nuances of earthiness and a gentle minerality emerge, adding complexity to the palate.
Exceptional balance, with bright acidity harmoniously complementing the fruit and adding freshness to the overall profile. Long and satisfying finish.
