Previously tasted at the winery five months ago and my notes were confirmed and this wine is finally trending down. Floral notes light spices and some sweetness on the nose. Close to medium bodied, but not as much density as prior bottles showed. White apple and white peach remain the dominant fruit notes with acidity and spices on the back to provide the structure and contrast. However, as compared to prior bottles, this wine doesn't have the depth, the fruit definition or the structure it once did. It's still enjoyable to drink, but it's undeniably on the downhill slope and any bottles you have should be drunk in the near term future. It's not going to fall apart, but it will clearly be better drunk today than it will be tomorrow.

Tasted at the winery. Previously tasted at the winery 19 months ago and while I remain quite impressed with how this wine has held up, it has now (finally) taken a small step backwards. Like my prior tasting, the nose has softened a bit from its prior examples, showing light peach and soft, floral qualities. Medium bodied and clearly showing more density than the 2021 it was tasted alongside. The white apple upfront is rounded and open as is the white peach through the middle. The mid-body shows some richness (not sweetness) that the 2021 lacked. The backside continues to show acidity, spice notes as well as melon and citrus qualities. Overall, the wine is still in a very enjoyable drinking window, showing the strength of the vintage. But at almost 10 years old, this is wine enjoyed in the near term as it's too good to push much further.

Tasted at the winery. Previously tasted from bottle almost exactly three years ago and I was quite impressed with how this wine has held up. Nose is not quite as aromatic as previously floral qualities, soft spice notes and some open peach notes. Close to medium bodied with the same mixture of white apple and peach I recalled from my last tasting from bottle. Lightly tart notes on the back, especially apple and melon with enough spice hints remaining to identify as gewürztraminer. Overall, the wine has held onto its depth quite well and it felt very complete and integrated. The integration on the backside meant that some of the spice and structural notes were rounded and slightly less vibrant. The fruit continues to show well and there's enough structure for balance. This wine might not have the liveliness it once did, but the strength of the vintage shines through. This wine should remain quite enjoyable over the next few years, even as the spice notes and acidity continue to integrate.

Prior bottle was four months ago and it continues to show extremely well. Light spices and floral notes on the nose. Close to medium bodied and the fruit remains exemplary, with apple and peach upfront, backed with tart green apple, spices and mineral notes through the finish. The highpoints of this wine were the density through the mid-body, the richness of the fruit and the balance between the fruit and the acidity. Has the structural acidity to continue to go for several more years and has the fruit notes to make that time interesting.

Prior bottle was eight months ago and the bottle tonight showed even slightly better than that one. Classic geranium and light spices on the nose. Between light and medium bodied (12.5% ABV) with apple peach and geranium through the middle which showed both a little more depth and a little more acidity-based backbone than my prior bottle. Added tart notes of green apple, spices and very good acidity towards the back. This bottle showed better overall integration, slightly more precision through the mid-body fruit and just a touch more acidity which helped in both backbone and contrast. I have one bottle left and may open it in November 2017 as I expect I'll have the opportunity to pick up more if it continues to show well.
