  • Nose of sour cherry and a bit of sage and other spices. Fruit forward palate of red cherry, just a bit sour. Medium acidity, light tannins and low alcohol. No structure... no mid-palate, or finish. Just a very light textured easy drinking table wine. Paired fairly well with a smoked brisket dinner. Typical Italian table wine. Cleared the palate and didn't interfere with the food flavors overmuch. Barbera has so much more potential than this, but at $10/btl. you could do a lot worse. Drink up now. Don't know how this is worthy of a DOCG classification. Does DOCG have any real meaning today?

  • Herbal, licrorice and sour cherry nose. Juicy sour cherry taste with bright acidity. Light body. There's no structure at all. Some tannin at finish. Good partner with food.
