Opaque, black/eggplant-purple. Thinking Debra Messing at the Tony’s 🔥. Decanting for two plus hours (NOTE: 4 hours much better) necessary as 14.9% alcohol overwhelming at opening. Ripe dark blackberries, plums, smokey with a touch of tar softened by vanilla scented perfume. As she continues to breathe, she comes together in a sophisticated ensemble fitting her visual vibrancy. Complicated, bat-shit crazy all over the place persona with a Madonna-like allure and sensuality 💄.Finesse be a lady tonight dancing lightly down the lush carpet of dark cherries, candied fruit punch, strawberry jam and silky, elegant tannins. Stunning with dark chocolate brownies and double-stuff #Oreocookies. Voluptuous drop of Kate Upton on our palates.

Informal gathering, no detailed notes. Not decanted, needs 2 hours in a decanter. At first a bit hollow and too spicy but it became better, more harmonious and balanced by the minute. The spices got better integrated, leaving more space for all the red and bright dark fruit underneath. Good minerality (more so then the Solari 2014 next to it) which I always love. Definitely ready to drink today with a decant but my guess is, this has the structure to gain further with 5 and 10 more years of age. At first 92/93, last sips rather in the 95/96 ball park.
Decanting: Not decanted, it needed time to blossom. Ideally at least two hours in the decanter at this point.

Tasted blind. P&Ped, although I joined in at least 1h later and was told the first impression was more muted. Fine baking spices and fine wooden notes. Juicy and incedibly perfumed nose with a cool fruit. This has a mystic touch it. Lots of tobacco too. Complexity is out of this world, the more I think about it, also adding some meaty angles in the end. Good balance but with still elevated acidity on the palate. Fantastic how the perfume notes are transported, but overall not fully delivering on the palate against massive expectations built up with the nose.

Fisher Garden Day (Fisher Vineyards, Sonoma): Tasted @ Fisher Vineyards on Fall release day. On the nose, very balanced in the fruit and oak notes. I would say it already have some of the pepper notes but they are clearly at early stages. Black berries on the nose and palate. Medium plus finish that got somewhat longer. I has a consistency with the lamb cabs I tasted before, and it was best of the cabs I tried that day. 93+ No rush to drink it now (I'd wait another year or so before trying it again), but rewarding if you do. Decanting is probably a very good idea for this one.
