I've enjoyed the Novy Gary's Vineyard Syrah before so I wanted to try this one. It did not disappoint. Full and rich mouthfeel. Ripe dark fruit, plum, with some of meat, iron and touch of vanilla sweetness. Sometimes tasting like a Northern Rhone. Not overly complex but a very good Syrah for $15 in PA, just give it some time to breathe. It held up strong on day 2 also. I'm buying more.

Siduri & Novy Tasting (Santa Rosa, CA): Dark purple color. Aromas of blackberries, smoke, mocha and spice rub. Grippy, mouthpuckering tannins, but some medium acid. The concentrated black cherry is blended with notes of vanilla, smoke, bacon fat and black pepper. Dense and age-worthy, and an easy decision at $20.

A more medium bodied variety with moderate heat, good spice and some complexity. Good value at $15.

Siduri/Novy at the Dallas Zoo (The Dallas Zoo, Giants of the Savannah Exhibit): Pretty much opaque dark garnet in the glass. Like a more refined sibling to the Page Nord bottling. Ripe smelling dark fruit on the nose with a touch of new leather. Medium-full bodied with supple texture. Good. Pretty good value.
