Quite mature appearance, medium gold. Nose is fresh though with lemon and orange peel, hint of pear, distinct notes of sesame seed. No more than medium bodied on the palate, crisp and taut with a very slight creamy edge, lemon, orange, sesame seed, very open now with good intensity on the mid-palate and an extended, fresh, minerally finish. Extremely drinkable, a great food wine and absolutely a point. Excellent.

Pale yellow; mineral nose that follows through on to the palate. Clean, some fruit, medium intensity, clean mineral finish. Quite savoury. After a while the nose and palate develops a smokey bacon crisp flavour, slightly unusual but not unattractive. So much nicer than the 91 Sauzet it replaced. ***1/2

Bright, medium gold. Slightly reticent at first, then ripe pear, lightly honeyed with slightly earthy minerals. Quite light, lean and fresh on the palate, but with a fair amount of honeyed maturity too. Also ripe apple and pear with attractive background creamy flavours and lovely mouth-watering citrusy acidity on the lingering finish. Excellent.

As a white Burgundy from 1996, it is holding up quite nicely. It shows tertiary nutty flavors, but still you can taste some fruit.

MDH: Very nice aromas of integrated oak, asparagus, viscous/dense texture. Elegant, but a bit lean on the palate
