An interesting wine. Deep ruby color. Never had a wine stain my teeth as much as this did. Nose of plum, cherry, black licorice. Full body, medium+ acid, medium+ soft tannins (they build over time). Medium finish that is a little thin and tart. Better with food. By itself, there is a very chalky aftertaste.

Inky purple in the glass, aromatic nose of dark fruits and black licorice, drinking beautifully with balanced soft tannins, fruit forward palate of black plums, cacao, hint of violet, medium long finish with a kiss of wood. Excellent expression of Bonarda. We will be seeking out more.

Three hour decant, which is a good idea considering tannic backbone of this wine. Very dark in the glass, syrah like in color. Long, very fast legs, this has some heat to it which you can taste in the palate. The nose is smoke, chocolate, dark fruit and heat, a little meaty as well. The palate is strong with both tannins and acidity but they are in balance enough that neither is overwhelming. Smoke and earth are much more prevalent on the tongue then they are on the nose. With a medium finish this is a unique experience well worth trying for the very low cost of a bottle.

Fruity. Smooth. No alcohol taste. Low tannins. A beautiful delicious grape. Like a smooth Syrah.
